Setting up your workspace

The setup steps for framework operators and buyer organisations, and how to skip or come back later.

The first time an account owner signs in, CommonSource asks them to set up the workspace. Setup tells research what to look for, so results fit your organisation better. Other members skip this and go straight to Challenges.

Setup is different for each account type.

Framework operators answer five steps:

  1. Your framework: framework name, operator organisation and website.

  2. Buyer scope: the types of buyer your framework serves.

  3. Innovation profile: innovation types, solution types and which routes it suits, such as pre-market, pilot or scale deployment.

  4. Research settings: at least one domain and at least one place.

  5. Review and launch.

Buyer organisations answer three steps:

  1. Your organisation: name, what kind of organisation it is, website, and an optional short description that appears on your public page.

  2. Research settings: at least one domain and at least one place.

  3. Review and launch.

Saving setup does not start any research. You choose when to run research from the Challenges page.

You can select Skip for now and come back later from Settings → Setup. Your workspace still works, but research fits you better once setup is done.
